About the role
Reporting to the Regional Lead, you will be a seasoned employment professional with experience working in a fast paced and changing environment supporting multiple stakeholders.
As Regional Advisor Employment, you will be a dynamic and energetic individual who understands that supporting schools/kura to flourish is ultimately about — students and their learning — and that every child deserves to be at the centre of that work. You will do this by providing regional support and guidance to school boards and principals in all aspects of human resources and employment relations. Any day could see you advise on relationship matters, recruitment, performance management, conduct issues, health and safety, restructures or attend mediation. A truly diverse role.
in this role you will be supporting principals and boards in their employer role and to engage with unions, lawyers and advocates on a regular basis, where you will need to demonstrate strong relationship building and conflict management skills.
You will be surrounded with supportive HR and employment talent, both as part of a national team and as part of a regional team of 12. The culture is an open one of asking questions, sharing areas of expertise and learning and growing together, ensuring quality and consistency of advice. This is an excellent opportunity to get a wide variety of employment relations exposure and experience within a unionised environment.
This position is work from home in either Wellington or the Kapiti Coast. There will be regular travel required to support schools throughout these regions and a requirement to attend team and full staff meetings which may occur in other locations. A work vehicle will be provided. This is a permanent full-time position (40 hours per week). You will need to be flexible to work outside usual office hours as required.
