We’re looking for a talented, high-energy person to deliver HR and Employment Relations advice and support to Principals and School Boards.
About the role
Reporting to the Regional Lead, you will be a seasoned employment professional with experience working in a fast paced and changing environment supporting multiple stakeholders.
As Regional Advisor Employment, you will partner with school leaders across the full range of school environments. You will deliver end-to-end HR solutions, advice and support. Any day could see you advise on relationship building techniques, recruitment, performance management, conduct issues, health and safety or co-design a restructure proposal or attend mediation. A truly diverse role.
In addition to problem solving via robust processes, you will be involved in designing and delivering workshops aimed at problem prevention and best practice management of all things HR and Employment Relations.
The role places you as the conduit between Principals (as CEOs of schools) and unions on a regular basis, enabling you to demonstrate your strong relationship building skills.
You will be surrounded with supportive HR and employment law talent, both as part of a national team and as part of a regional team of 13. The culture is an open one of asking questions, sharing areas of expertise and learning and growing together, ensuring quality and consistency of advice. This is an excellent opportunity to get a wide variety of Employment Relations exposure and experience within a unionised environment. All our regional advisors grow and develop in this area.
This position is work from home. There will be regular travel required to support schools throughout your region in the South Island and a requirement to attend team and full staff meetings either in our national office based in Wellington or other locations. A work vehicle will be provided.
This is a permanent full-time position (40 hours per week).
